The Cultured Pearl Memorial depicts three key people involved in the Kuri Bay pearl industy, T Kuribayashi, Keith Dureau and H Iwaki. Mr.Tokuichi Kuribayashi was originally from Nippon Pearl Company, Tokyo, while Mr. Hiroshi Iwaki and Keith Francis Dureau were from Pearl Prop. Ltd. Situated on the cnr of Hammersley & Frederick Sts the Broome Courthouse came to be In 1921. The Government purchased the Cable Station and converted it into a Courthouse. The existing Broome courthouse, on a nearby site, was converted for use as police station and quarters. The Broome Courthouse opened on 6 September 1921. The
The Chinese Cemetery is found next to the Japanese Cemetery (Attraction #42), and there is also a Muslim cemetery with many graves of Malay divers who contributed to the pearling boom in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
